Book design is 5 Tips for Choosing a Video Production Company
Video is the most popular way of communicating in the digital age; marketers who use video saw their company's revenue increase 49% more compared to those who don't.
As per Forbes, 65% of business executives visit a company's website after watching a video and more than 80% of them are watching more videos online than they were only a year ago.
It is without a doubt that video is a must in today's advertising landscape, and there are more and more companies offering affordable video production services around the globe. But how to choose a video production company that is right for you?
Here are some pro-tips.
Look beyond the demo reel
This may sound obvious, but a lot of companies would feature an amazing demo reel to show off their skills; that's usually not enough to make an informed decision. As good as the demo reel might look, it is not indicative of the finished video clips. Go to their showcase page and watch a few videos from start to finish to get a better taste of how the company operates.
Have a good idea of what you're looking for
A good video production company would need more than your website address to make you a good video, so be prepared to answer some questions about what it is you're trying to achieve. Ideally, you would have a brief that you could present to the video production company; if you don't, they would often send you a blank brief document that you would be able to fill in with details such as who is your target audience and other details. It is the creative video production company's job to come up with concepts and proposals, but it is your job to articulate your vision as best as you can
Plan for your budget
Video production prices vary wildly one company to the next, and before you choose who to work with, it is recommended to ask a few companies for a quote. The prices may range from $500 to $20,000 for the same video, but more expensive doesn't always mean better, and the cheapest offers often sacrifice quality. If the company you're working with offers what seems to be a good deal, you may want to double check with them that there are no hidden production costs such as music licensing, or travel expenses. And if you're still searching for quality video production at very competitive prices, why don't you give us a shout!
Ask for testimonials
If you're about to spend several thousand dollars on a video project, it's absolutely okay to ask the video production company to either provide some testimonials or, if not directly available, to get in touch with their previous clients to make sure that they can do the job on time and on budget.
Make sure the company has the necessary tools for the job
If you're asking for animation, ask them if they will do it in-house or outsource it. If filming a scene that will require adding a background, ask the video production company if they have a green screen; heck, ask them if they even have a studio in the first place! It's fair to ask if they have all the necessary cameras and tools needed for the job. Here at Art-Proffi we have our own studio and a bundle of high-end recording equipment, but not all studios are so lucky.
